Dr. Richard Wichmann

Richard Wichmann received his Doctor of Laws with summa cum laude from the Humboldt University of Berlin in 2016 and was awarded the sponsorship prize of the “Stiftung Unternehmensfinanzierung und Kapitalmärkte” for his doctoral dissertation in the field of comparative law. Before joining Alexander & Partner, Richard Wichmann gained experience in energy and infrastructure law at a major law firm and in boutique law firms for renewable energies (RE), energy industry and construction law. He focuses on consulting in the fields of energy trading, electricity cost optimization for companies and legal support for projects concerning the purpose of generating and selling renewable energies and green hydrogen.

Richard Wichmann supports companies in the project planning phase, i.e., in securing a company location, financing, or obtaining regulatory approvals, in the construction or acquisition of RE power plant parks (asset or share deals) or in the marketing of the produced electricity. His knowledge of labor, corporate and tax law ensures comprehensive support for all projects. If amicable settlements fail in case of conflict, Richard Wichmann decisively enforces his clients’ interests in civil or administrative court proceedings.

Since Germany and Europe cannot produce all the necessary electricity coming from renewable energies and green hydrogen to achieve climate neutrality, their import is becoming increasingly important. The support of solar, wind farm and hydrogen projects in the MEA region as well as the energy transport to Europe round off Richard Wichmann’s consulting spectrum.

Richard Wichmann is a guest lecturer in civil and commercial law at the Humboldt University and the HWR Berlin. He speaks German, English and French as well as some Spanish.
