Jan Harder is specialized in international business ventures, mergers & acquisitions, and infrastructure projects with a focus on mobility and project/export finance as well as strategic legal advice and interim management.

Jan Harder was admitted to the German Bar in 2000 and is registered as an EU/EFTA lawyer in the Bar Register of the Canton of Thurgau, Switzerland, since 2022. After studying law in Konstanz, Germany, he obtained his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Edinburgh Business School of Wharton University in 2009.

Jan Harder gained his first legal experiences at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), at the law firm Müller, Lenssen & Poppe in Meersburg, and thereafter as a manager and legal advisor at Siemens AG with assignments in Constance, Erlangen, St. Petersburg, and Moscow, at Alstom Transport in London and Moscow. Following this, he worked in the management of a medium-sized railroad industry company in Switzerland, Austria, India, and Saxony-Anhalt.

He has been working in the industry since 1998 in the fields of postal, logistics, and airport automation as well as the railroad industry in various positions in legal advice, sales, CRM, marketing, purchasing and SCM, business administration and controlling, strategy, M&A and corporate management. He specializes in complex cross-border business and corporate activities, mergers & acquisitions and investment management, international infrastructure projects, and associated financing as well as strategic legal advice and interim management.

Jan Harder is a member of the Freiburg Bar Association. From 2015 to 2022, he was a member of the Railway Industry Association. He regularly speaks at international rail industry conferences in Germany and abroad, participates in business delegation trips, and publishes on topics related to the rail industry and sustainable business processes. He works in German and English, as well as Croatian, Russian and French.

Jan Harder has been supporting Alexander & Partner since April 2022 from his office in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, where he advises clients together with his wife Olga Harder, mediator.
