Oliver Alexander is the founding partner of Alexander & Partner Rechtsanwälte mbB, which he established in 2013. Prior to founding the firm, he held several prestigious legal positions, including roles at the in-house legal department of the multi-billion-dollar industrial Preussag Group in Hannover, Germany, at Al-Attiya Legal Consultant & Attorney in Doha, Qatar, and at Amereller Rechtsanwälte in both Berlin and Doha, focusing on international arbitration and commercial law.
Oliver Alexander is an accomplished practitioner with a proven track record in commercial law, international and commercial arbitration, construction and infrastructure disputes, and alternative dispute resolution, including adjudication, mediation, and arbitration. He has played a pivotal role in major construction and infrastructure projects across the GCC, particularly in Qatar. Additionally, Oliver Alexander has been instrumental in facilitating substantial investments by Arab investors into projects in Germany and other European countries, with a focus on the real estate, infrastructure, and renewable energy sectors.
He has been approved as an individual by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority, and was appointed as one of the first Certified Lawyers for International Business Law by the Berlin Bar in 2015. Oliver Alexander is also registered with the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA), the German Institute for Arbitration (DIS), ICC Germany, and the Indian National Bar Association (INBA) in Delhi. He serves as the founding chairman and an active member of the German Business Council Qatar (GBCQ), where he contributes to fostering business relations between Germany and Qatar.
Oliver Alexander completed his legal education at the University of Würzburg and Humboldt University in Berlin, and was admitted to the bar in Berlin in 1996. He also earned a Diploma in English Law from the University of Wales, United Kingdom, in 1993. Fluent in both German and English, Oliver Alexander divides his time between Doha, Accra, and Berlin, where he resides with his family.
