Tariere Richards, LL.M.

Tariere Richards is a lawyer from Nigeria. She studied law in Nigeria and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar Association as a licensed lawyer in 2014. She obtained her LL.M. (Master of Law) in European and International Law focusing on International Trade and Investment Law and International Dispute Resolution from the Europa-Institut, Saarland University, Germany.

Ms. Richards has worked as a lawyer in the Ministry of Justice in Nigeria and as a lawyer in a company where she was responsible for legal issues with respect to small and medium enterprises. She has also worked as a research analyst and an administrative officer.

Under the DAAD-funded project of the Europa-Institut and the University of Melbourne, Ms. Richards addressed the topic of investment screening mechanisms in Nigeria and wrote her research thesis on “A comparative analysis of foreign investment screening mechanisms in the different regions of Africa”.

Within the team of Alexander & Partner, she is involved in business law in Africa, contract drafting and analysis and dispute resolution among others.
