Marie Badiane is a French attorney assisting small and mid-cap companies with a focus on energy and technology-driven innovation.

Before joining Alexander & Partner in July 2023, Marie Badiane has worked successively for Mazars and GB2A avocats – a firm advising sponsors and municipalities on local project finance. In addition, Marie Badiane has a three-year experience in legal assistance in top tier law firms.

Marie is passionate about the nexus between technological innovation and energy as a mean to tackle the gap in energy infrastructure. She is involved in various Africa-related professional organizations such as the French Chapter of the Association of international energy negotiators (AIEN), the African Chapter of the Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) as well as the African Business Lawyers Club.

As part of her hydrogen-related work and together with Ivoire Hydrogène, Marie has developed the concept of “H2 Mining Energy Hub” that consists of pooling the energy needs of different entities including mining companies to accelerate the offtake of hydrogen and its derivatives across sectors in Africa.

Marie Badiane holds a master degree (Master 1) in International and European Law (2013), a Postgraduate Diploma (Diplôme d’Université) in Energy Law from the Nanterre University as well as the Fintech Certificate from Harvard University. She is listed at the Hauts-de-Seine Bar (Paris Business District) since 2021.

Marie Badiane is French Senegalese. She speaks fluent English, German and French and supports our office from Paris.
