Petra Kuhn graduated from the Berlin School of Economics and Law, with a diploma in judicial administration (Diplom- Rechtspflegerin FH). Following her work at the Regional Court of Berlin, Petra Kuhn continued her studies in law at the Universities of Potsdam and Nanterre, where she completed a dual degree program, earning a Master’s degree (Maîtrise en droit) and a postgraduate diploma in European Business Law (D.E.S.S.). She subsequently attended the Versailles Bar School, where she obtained the French legal qualification (Certificat d’Aptitude à la Profession d’Avocat).
Since January 2019, Petra Kuhn has been a counsel at Alexander & Partner. Prior to this, she headed the Lyon office of a Paris-based international law firm, where she provided comprehensive legal services to German-speaking clients in France. Her expertise covered key areas of business law, including contract, distribution, commercial, corporate, and employment law, as well as debt collection management and litigation.
Her practice is distinguished by a broad and deep experience in cross-border real estate law, inheritance law, and gift law, along with a strong understanding of the relevant tax law.
Petra Kuhn is a co-author of “Legal Tips for Exporters” and the guide “Law for Craftsmen”, both published by Germany Trade & Invest – Society for Foreign Trade and Location Marketing (GTAI). She has also written numerous articles for the professional journal Personalmanager – HR International, addressing topics such as “Mergers and Acquisitions in France – A Labour Law Overview,” “Executive Exchange Between Germany and France,” and “The Employed Agent.”
In addition to her legal practice, Petra Kuhn initially served as a lecturer in German Civil and Civil Procedure Law at the University of Cergy-Pontoise. Since 2007, she has been teaching German Contract and Corporate Law as part of a comparative law Master’s program at the University of Lyon 2.
Petra Kuhn holds dual German and French citizenship and is fluent in German, French, and English.
